Invalid list type. Send email with attachment will only work with Lists or Document Libraries.

Hello,

I'm running a SharePoint 2010 environment with "Send Email With Attachment - Issue Tracking" deployed.

I've created a workflow where there is a check for department and afterwards the mail with attachment is sent 2 times. The First time for the To and the second time for CC.

When the workflow containing the "Send E-mail with attachment" is activated, the CC mail is never sent.

Workflow history:
Invalid list type. Send email with attachment will only work with Lists or Document Libraries. Email not sent

How can i get this workflow to work?

Hi,

Just making sure I have the scenario correct, so I can try to recreate the issue:

You have a workflow and in that workflow you are using the Send Email with attachment action twice one for a "to" the other for a "cc". And there is no difference in the options of these two actions except for who the email is going to. Is this correct?

I will do some testing to see if I can recreate the issue and hopefully get this fixed.

Hello Aozen,

You are correct. I use the same action twice:

Step 1:
If Current Item: Department equals HR
  • Send email to Current Item: recipient, display sharepoint@test.com as sender. Also include attachment or documents from Current Item as attachments in the email.
  • then Send email to Current Item: CC, display sharepoint@test.com as sender. Also include attachment or documents from Current Item as attachments in the email.
Or if Current Item: Department equals IT
  • Send email to Current Item: recipient, display sharepoint@test.com as sender. Also include attachment or documents from Current Item as attachments in the email.
  • then Send email to Current Item: CC, display sharepoint@test.com as sender. Also include attachment or documents from Current Item as attachments in the email.
Or if Current Item: Department equals Purchasing
  • Send email to Current Item: recipient, display sharepoint@test.com as sender. Also include attachment or documents from Current Item as attachments in the email.
  • then Send email to Current Item: CC, display sharepoint@test.com as sender. Also include attachment or documents from Current Item as attachments in the email.
...

repeat "or if" checks for about 20 seperate times for the different departments
